 Why it is prescribed: Stimulates the insulin secreation from pancreatic beta cells.It induces the increased activity of peripheral insulin receptors,ensure glucose control throughout 24 hours wothouit hypoglycemia.

 When it is to be taken: Initially start with 160mgs daily in two divided doses.May go up to 320 mgs daily in two divided doses.

 How it should be taken: It comes in the form of 10,40,60 and 80 mgs tablets.

 Special Instruction : periiods of metabolic stress.

 Side Effects : skin rash ,urticaria and hypoglycemia are the common side effectys of the drug.

 Other Precautions : Contraindicated in the case of pregnancy.use with caution in the case of several renal failure and hepatic failure
